French authorities ban Olympiacos fans from Marseille match
French authorities have officially banned Olympiacos fans from attending the upcoming Europa League match against Marseille, scheduled for October 15, 2026, at the Stade Vélodrome. The decision, issued by the local prefecture and signed by Deputy Prefect Corinne Simon, classifies the event as a high-risk match due to concerns over potential violent confrontations and existing tensions with other fan groups, including reported links to AEK Athens and Red Star Belgrade supporters.
Following the decree published on October 13, any individual identified as an Olympiacos or Red Star Belgrade supporter is prohibited from entering the Vélodrome stadium, as well as accessing specific city center areas and roads surrounding the venue. The Olympiacos football club has confirmed the ban and advised its fans against traveling to Marseille. While initial reports indicated that authorities were considering travel restrictions, the measure has now been formalized as a total prohibition on fan presence in the vicinity of the stadium to ensure public order.
