Cyprus Cup updates and upcoming league matches

On October 14, 2026, the first round of the Coca-Cola Cup in Cyprus featured key matchups, though one match was significantly affected by severe weather. Aris Limassol secured a comfortable 4-0 victory against Ethnikos Achnas at the Alphamega Stadium, while Krasava ENY progressed by defeating Spartakos Kitiou 2-0 at the Ammochostos-Epistrofi Stadium. The Krasava ENY match was briefly suspended for approximately 12 minutes due to heavy rainfall, but goals by Brompei in the 74th minute and De Lucas in stoppage time secured the result.

Conversely, the scheduled cup match between Omonia 29M and AEP Polemidion was postponed after a lightning strike damaged a stadium floodlight. The Cyprus Football Association (CFA) is currently reviewing reports regarding the incident to determine the next steps. Meanwhile, teams have shifted focus to the sixth round of the Cyprus League by Stoiximan, scheduled for October 17-19, 2026. The CFA has also arranged a meeting with club presidents for October 20 to address ongoing concerns regarding officiating and judicial procedures.
