Cyprus Deputy Shipping Minister embarks on East Asian tour
Cyprus Deputy Shipping Minister Marina Hadjimanolis is departing for a 16-day working visit to Japan, China, and South Korea, scheduled from October 14 to 29, 2026. The mission aims to bolster bilateral maritime relations, promote the Cyprus flag, and attract new business opportunities within these major Asian shipping markets through high-level meetings with government officials, shipowners, and shipyard representatives.
A central component of the trip is the minister’s attendance at the 5th Capital Link Japan Maritime Forum in Tokyo. During this event, Hadjimanolis will engage in a featured discussion with Capital Link founder and president Nicolas Bornozis, focusing on themes of leadership, maritime policy, and international competitiveness. Additionally, the Deputy Ministry is hosting a dedicated event for the Japanese business community to showcase Cyprus as a premier international maritime center.
This initiative represents a strategic effort by the Cypriot government to deepen its engagement with the Asian shipping industry. By fostering new commercial partnerships and increasing the visibility of the Cyprus register, the ministry seeks to enhance the competitiveness and global influence of the country's maritime sector.
