Nicosia to close junction for four months due to roadworks
The Nicosia Municipality announced that the junction of Famagusta Avenue and Kennedy Avenue will be closed to traffic for a period of four months starting Thursday, October 15. This closure is a key component of the ongoing urban development project titled 'Improvement of Famagusta Avenue in Nicosia'.
To accommodate the flow of traffic during the construction, authorities will establish a temporary junction regulated by traffic lights at the intersection of Tryfonos Street and Famagusta Avenue. Drivers have been officially advised to exercise extra caution, adhere strictly to temporary road signage, and allow additional travel time for their commutes through the area while the project is underway.
These roadworks are intended to upgrade the infrastructure of the specified avenues as part of the broader municipal improvement plans. The authorities have provided no further details on subsequent phases of the project at this time, focusing instead on the immediate traffic management measures required to minimize disruption during the four-month closure.
