Kraken awards scholarships to University of Cyprus graduate students
The cryptocurrency firm Kraken, through its parent company Payward, awarded six scholarships to graduate students at the University of Cyprus for the 2026-2027 academic year. The awards were presented during a ceremony held at the university campus in Nicosia, with three scholarships dedicated to the Finance master’s program and three to the Data Science master’s program.
The recipients of the scholarships are Georgios Fawzy, Troodia Eleftheriou, and Georgios Bakaris from the MSc in Finance program, along with Marios Makrygiannis, Fotis Pittatzis, and Maria Manelova from the MSc in Data Science program. These funds are intended to cover a portion of the students' tuition fees. The selection process was conducted by the university's School of Economics and Management based on established criteria, including academic performance and financial need.
This initiative stems from a formal partnership between Payward and the University of Cyprus, aimed at supporting students who specialize in economy, finance, and innovation. The program reflects the ongoing collaboration between the corporate sector and academic institutions to foster professional development in these fields.
