Healthcare stakeholders discuss innovation and clinical research in Cyprus
On October 8, 2026, the MSJ Group and AbbVie co-organized an event titled "AbbVie ONE – Human-Centric Innovation" at the Old Town Hall in Nicosia. Held under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, the forum brought together government officials, medical and scientific experts, healthcare stakeholders, and patient representatives.
The discussion focused on improving patient access to innovative therapies, fostering the development of clinical research in Cyprus, and overcoming systemic challenges related to the evaluation and financing of new medical options. Participants explored methods to translate scientific progress into tangible therapeutic benefits for patients more efficiently. A significant portion of the dialogue centered on the necessity of formulating new policies that address unmet medical needs and prioritize patient quality of life.
The event served as a platform for multi-sectoral collaboration to shape the future of the Cypriot health system. While no specific legislative decisions were announced, the gathering highlighted an ongoing commitment by both the state and private stakeholders to accelerate access to healthcare advancements.
