Cyprus and Germany initiate business cooperation in the energy sector
A German business delegation is currently visiting Cyprus to explore and foster partnerships in energy-related technologies. The initiative, running from October 13 to October 16, 2026, is organized by the Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (Oev) in collaboration with the German-Hellenic Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
The mission includes dozens of targeted business-to-business (B2B) meetings held at the Oev offices in Nicosia. Key topics under discussion involve energy storage, smart grids, energy management, and electric mobility. In addition to individual meetings, a roundtable discussion was held featuring representatives from the German delegation and key Cypriot stakeholders, including the distribution system operator, academic institutions, and various business and scientific organizations.
The objective of these sessions is to facilitate the exchange of expertise regarding the infrastructure and technological upgrades required by Cyprus to meet future energy challenges. By focusing on these specific sectors, both parties aim to establish long-term commercial ties that will support the modernization of the local energy grid and distribution network.
