Recipe Unlimited acquires Vivartia's catering unit Evergood
On October 14, 2026, the Canadian group Recipe Unlimited Corporation, controlled by Prem Watsa’s Fairfax, signed a definitive agreement to acquire 100% of the shares of Evergood, the catering division of the Greek holding company Vivartia. The transaction includes major restaurant chains such as Goody’s Burger House, Everest, Flocafé Espresso Room, La Pasteria, and Jackaroo, alongside the group's food production and catering operations. While the companies have not disclosed an official price, banking sources cited by Capital.gr estimate the deal to be worth approximately 300 million euros.
This acquisition marks the exit of the investment firm CVC from one of Greece's largest organized catering groups. Recipe Unlimited, a global player with over 100 years of history and a portfolio including brands like Swiss Chalet and Harvey’s, aims to leverage Evergood’s local market leadership for further international expansion. CEO Frank Hennessey stated that the existing management team will remain in place to drive future growth in Greece and abroad.
The completion of the transaction is expected by the end of 2026, pending approval from the Hellenic Competition Commission and the finalization of change-of-control procedures with lending banks.
