Paphos municipality nears completion of new public space infrastructure projects
The Municipality of Paphos is entering the final stage of developing several public areas that had remained unused for years. Acting Mayor Angelos Onisiforou announced that municipal crews are currently working at an intensive pace to finalize the transformation of these sites into functional urban infrastructure. The ongoing work includes landscaping, planting, sidewalk repairs, and final safety inspections to ensure the areas are ready for public use.
The new facilities will feature a variety of amenities, including sports installations, parking areas, playgrounds, and green spaces designed to serve children, young people, and families across the city. According to the official announcement, the official inauguration ceremony for these newly developed spaces is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, October 21, at 16:00. This initiative is part of a broader municipal effort to revitalize dormant urban land and improve the quality of life for local residents.
