Limassol man remanded for domestic abuse and threats
On October 14, 2026, the Limassol District Court ordered the three-day detention of a 46-year-old man following allegations of severe domestic abuse against his former partner. The suspect is being investigated for multiple offenses, including written threats to kill, assault causing grievous bodily harm, unlawful entry, harassment, and psychological violence.
According to the complaint filed with the Limassol CID’s domestic violence unit, the suspect struggled to accept the end of their relationship and engaged in a months-long campaign of harassment. The victim reported a specific incident in late September where the suspect sent threatening messages while she was out, subsequently entering her home, verbally abusing her, and physically attacking her by pulling her hair and punching her in the head. The victim sustained visible injuries during the assault and reported living in constant fear for her life.
The authorities requested the three-day remand to facilitate ongoing investigations into the pattern of abuse. The suspect remains in custody as police continue to gather evidence related to the reported threats and violent acts.
