Green Week 2026 events in Limassol
Green Week 2026 officially commenced in Limassol on October 14 at the Panos Solomonidis Hall, focusing on the city's green transition and traffic mobility. The opening event, attended by government officials including Transport Minister Evi Tsolaki and Limassol Mayor Yiannis Armeftis, brought together academic, business, and local government representatives to discuss sustainable urban development.
Earlier in the week, on October 13, officials participated in the 'EMEL Green Route,' which demonstrated the use of electric public transport. Participants rode one of the 35 electric buses currently in the company's fleet from the Limassol Town Hall to a new electric charging station in Polemidia, highlighting the infrastructure necessary for modern public transit.
The week concludes on October 17 and 18 at the Limassol Marina square. The program features an electric vehicle exhibition, including test rides for electric cars and bicycles, which opens Saturday at 11:00. The initiative ends on Sunday, October 18, with an awards ceremony at 18:30 to honor individuals and organizations contributing to environmental progress.
