Google grants European researchers access to advanced artificial intelligence tools
Google announced on October 14, 2026, during an AI summit in Dublin, that it will provide 200 European researchers access to its most sophisticated artificial intelligence systems. The beneficiaries will be selected by the European Commission from participants in the European RAISE program.
The researchers will gain access to cutting-edge tools provided by Google DeepMind and Google Cloud. Specific platforms included in this initiative are AlphaFold 3, which is utilized for protein research, along with AlphaGenome and the weather forecasting model WeatherNext. By offering critical computational power, the initiative aims to accelerate scientific innovation and bolster European competitiveness in fields ranging from mathematics to the biological sciences.
This decision comes as artificial intelligence continues to fundamentally transform global research landscapes. Through this partnership, Google intends to support the continent's research community by integrating high-level technology into current scientific workflows.
