Eleven men arrested following a brawl in Limassol

Police in Limassol arrested 11 men, aged 19 to 24, in the early hours of Thursday, October 15, 2026, following reports of a violent altercation in the Mesa Geitonia neighborhood. Authorities were notified around 1:20 a.m. regarding a fight involving 10 to 15 individuals on Megalou Alexandrou Street. Upon arrival, patrol units observed a group engaged in a heated dispute, with two participants showing visible facial injuries.

All 11 suspects were detained for the offense of unlawful assembly and transported to the Limassol Minor Offences Unit for identification and residency status verification. Subsequent checks revealed that five of the detained individuals were residing in the Republic of Cyprus illegally. These men were additionally charged with illegal stay. The Limassol Minor Offences Unit is currently continuing its investigation into the incident.
