The Court of Appeal has upheld the detention of a 29-year-old man accused of attempted murder and domestic abuse against his partner. Despite the victim retracting her statements and refusing to testify against him, the court ruled that the risk of the defendant fleeing remains high. While the court dismissed concerns regarding witness tampering, it confirmed he must remain in custody until his trial at the Nicosia Assize Court on October 23.
