On air performance series expands across Cyprus

Following a successful initial run in Limassol, the experimental performance project 'ON AIR' is extending its reach to public spaces in Paphos, Larnaca, and Nicosia. The project focuses on the body as a medium of transmission, exploring the political dimension of public presence and the tension between visibility and being unseen.

Each performance is composed live, reacting to the specific energy of the location, the sound, and audience interaction. The artists approach their work like a raw, unstable 'live broadcast' that questions the nature of contemporary constant connectivity. In addition to the live tours, the documentary project 'ON AIR – The Film' is scheduled for screening at the Synaxis Festival, hosted at the Synergeio Performing Arts Centre in Limassol.

By utilizing public spheres as stages, the performers aim to reclaim space and foster active intervention in the social environment. The project is designed as an open composition, evolving through each interaction, and reflects on what it means to broadcast in an era where everyone is continuously transmitting signals.
