12th Pame Kaimakli festival to take place in Nicosia
The 12th edition of the Pame Kaimakli festival is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25, 2026, in the Nicosia neighbourhood of Kaimakli. Organized by the NGO Urban Gorillas, this year's event shifts its location from the traditional Agia Varvara Square and the historic center to Synergasias Street, a path that follows the route of the former Cyprus railway.
This year’s edition features over 35 projects and includes more than 60 artists and practitioners from Cyprus and abroad, including international collectives from Italy and France. Additionally, 30 architecture students from the University of Nicosia will contribute by creating spatial installations. The program, running from 16:00 to 22:00 on both days, includes music, participatory artworks, workshops, theatre, and sculptural installations.
The festival’s 2026 theme is 'Collaborative Works' (Syn-erga-sies), which focuses on the act of collective creation. Organizers aim to explore the dynamics that emerge when individuals with diverse ideas, histories, and experiences work together. The event serves as a platform for residents, visitors, and migrants to engage in a shared cultural experience within the public and private spaces surrounding Synergasias Street.
