APOEL negotiations with Savvas Liasis investment group continue
Negotiations regarding a potential administrative change at APOEL remain ongoing, as the club’s board, the association, and representatives of the investment group led by Savvas Liasis work to finalize a formal agreement. APOEL spokesperson Nektarios Petevinos confirmed that three meetings were held last week to bridge remaining differences, noting that no financial support has yet been provided by the investors because the deal has not been signed. Legal teams are currently reviewing the final documentation to ensure the transition can proceed under stable conditions.
Beyond the potential ownership shift, the club is addressing significant challenges, including a difficult financial situation and the complex, time-consuming process for obtaining planning permission for a new private stadium. Petevinos stated that while progress is being made on the infrastructure project, the consultation phase remains extensive. On the pitch, the team is preparing for a challenging away match against Pafos, with staff focusing on player recovery for Pieros Sotiriou and Kattirtzis. Once the administrative negotiations reach a final conclusion, the club intends to hold formal announcements followed by general meetings to ratify the agreement.
