Road closures in Nicosia for the Run as One charity race

Nicosia authorities have announced significant traffic regulations for Sunday, October 18, 2026, due to the hosting of the charity running event "RUN AS ONE." The event is scheduled to take place within the Nicosia Municipality from 7:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. To ensure the safety of participants and the smooth progression of the race, authorities will begin closing specific sections of the road network starting at 6:30 a.m.

The affected areas include Griva Digeni Avenue, where the two southern lanes from the Prodromou intersection to the 28th of October street junction will close, as well as the two northern lanes between the 28th of October street and the Kolokasidi roundabout. Archangelou Avenue will be completely closed in both directions between the Griva Digeni intersection and the junction with Lefotheou and Makedonitissis avenues. Additionally, Nikou Kranidioti Street will be shut in both directions from Griva Digeni Avenue to the roundabout at Theodosis Pieridis Street. Organizers have advised drivers to take these temporary measures into account when planning their travel on Sunday morning.

Public updates emphasize that these arrangements are temporary and intended to facilitate the charity run. Participants and residents are encouraged to consult official maps provided on the event's website for specific routes and further logistical details.
