New website CyBusy forecasts congestion at Cyprus airports
Frequent traveler Amit Meldassi has launched a new free web service, CyBusy, designed to help passengers at Larnaca and Paphos airports avoid long queues and uncertainty regarding arrival times. The website provides congestion forecasts for a 72-hour window, allowing travelers to gauge how busy the terminals are expected to be before they arrive for their flights.
The service utilizes an algorithm that analyzes scheduled flight information to estimate passenger volumes. By mapping these numbers into waves of traffic, the system predicts when terminal congestion is most likely to peak. Meldassi developed the platform after identifying a gap in existing flight data, noting that general flight status updates do not account for the varying passenger experiences caused by fluctuating terminal crowds throughout the day.
Currently, the platform is accessible to all travelers via the CyBusy website. The initiative aims to streamline the pre-flight experience, helping passengers optimize their travel schedules and avoid both unnecessary waiting times and the stress of potential delays caused by unexpected airport crowding.
