Photo exhibition 'Yes, I Can' honoring Cypriot para-athletes opens in Nicosia
A photo exhibition celebrating the achievements of 14 Cypriot para-athletes opened on October 15, 2026, at Eleftheria Square in Nicosia. This event marks the sixth location for the 'Yes, I Can' campaign, which was launched by the Kateryna Biloruska Foundation (KBF) with the support of the Cyprus National Paralympic Committee (CNPC) and the Municipality of Nicosia.
Nicosia Mayor Charalambos Prountzos, CNPC President Andreas Georgiou, and KBF founder Kateryna Biloruska attended the opening ceremony. The exhibition features portraits of 14 athletes, five of whom attended the event to meet the public: para-swimmer Loizos Chrysanthou, para-archers Kyriakos Demetriou, Marios Lambrou, and Panagiotis Kkomor, and para-powerlifter Andreas Charalambous. During the opening, officials emphasized that the campaign aims to replace doubt with determination and to break down social barriers surrounding disability sports.
As part of an ongoing initiative, the campaign is designed to increase public understanding and knowledge regarding the capabilities and efforts of para-athletes. The organizers, including Kateryna Biloruska and Andreas Georgiou, highlighted that the campaign title represents a statement of courage, challenging societal perceptions through the human spirit found in sports.
