ERT announces Thessaloniki as the host city for the Eurovision 2027 national final
The Greek public broadcaster ERT officially announced that the national final for the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest, titled "Sing for Greece," will take place in Thessaloniki in February 2027. This marks the third consecutive year that ERT is hosting this specific selection format to determine the artist who will represent Greece at the 71st Eurovision Song Contest.
The event will span three nights, consisting of two semi-finals and a grand final, all of which will be broadcast live via ERT and the streaming platform ERTFLIX. Moving the production to Thessaloniki highlights the broadcaster's initiative to decentralize its major cultural events and engage audiences outside the capital. The winner of the final will go on to compete in the 71st Eurovision Song Contest, scheduled to be held in Burgas, Bulgaria, in May 2027.
Previous editions of "Sing for Greece" have garnered significant television ratings and record viewership on digital platforms. While ERT has confirmed the location and general structure of the event, specific dates for the February performances and the lineup of participating artists are expected to be unveiled in subsequent announcements as part of the preparations for the competition in Bulgaria.
