Robotex Cyprus 2026 awards ceremony held in Nicosia

On October 14, 2026, the Cyprus Computer Society (CCS) held an awards ceremony for the 9th Pan-Cypriot Robotex Educational and Athletic Robotics competition. The event, which took place at the Bank of Cyprus headquarters, honored the winners of the competition originally held in June 2026. The ceremony was conducted under the auspices of the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy.

Notable participants included Pampos Christodoulou, the new President of the Youth Board of Cyprus (ONEK), and Stavri Ttofa, Acting Director General of the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy, who represented the Deputy Minister. Ellie Ioannidou, Corporate Social Responsibility Director at the Bank of Cyprus, announced the winners. Attendees also participated in interactive side activities hosted by the Bank of Cyprus, including an AI Photobooth, a Rubik's Cube competition, and the JOEY Memory Game.

This annual event serves to promote robotics and STEM education among youth in Cyprus. By celebrating the achievements of young innovators, organizers aim to foster digital skills and interest in modern technology. The collaboration between the CCS, the government, and the Bank of Cyprus underscores the continued institutional support for robotics development in the region.
