Jude Bellingham agrees to five-year contract extension with Real Madrid
Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham has reached a verbal agreement to extend his contract with the club for five additional years, keeping him at the Spanish side until 2031. The 23-year-old international, who originally joined from Borussia Dortmund in 2023 for a transfer fee of 127 million euros, currently holds a contract that was set to expire in either 2028 or 2029, depending on the source. The new deal, which follows recent contract extensions for Arda Guler and Thibaut Courtois, will reportedly include a significant salary increase.
Since joining the club, Bellingham has established himself as a key figure in the squad, recording 49 goals and 36 assists in 150 appearances. He has been instrumental in the team's success, contributing to five titles in 2024, including the La Liga championship, the Champions League, the Intercontinental Cup, and both the Spanish and European Super Cups. According to reports, the club views Bellingham as a central leader to succeed established veterans like Dani Carvajal, Luka Modric, and Toni Kroos. While the verbal agreement is in place, formal signing procedures are pending.
