Physical education teacher arrested for sexual harassment of students in Voula

On Thursday, October 15, 2026, police in the Vari-Voula-Vouliagmeni district arrested a 58-year-old physical education teacher following allegations of sexual misconduct against middle school students. The case was initiated by a formal complaint from the mother of a 13-year-old student, who reported that the teacher touched her daughter's thigh during a physical education class.

Following the initial report, two additional students provided testimonies alleging that the same teacher had touched their genital areas during previous lessons. Criminal charges have been filed against the suspect for serial sexual offense and indecent assault of minors. The educator has been referred to the local misdemeanor court for trial.

In addition to the criminal proceedings, the Ministry of Education has placed the teacher on administrative leave. A formal internal administrative investigation (EDE) has been initiated to determine the full scope of the allegations and to impose necessary disciplinary measures. The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to process the evidence and testimonies provided by the students.
