Turkish ministers to hold high-level talks in Brussels
Turkish government officials are scheduled to travel to Brussels next week for a series of high-level meetings aimed at strengthening diplomatic and security ties. On Tuesday, October 20, 2026, a bilateral meeting between Turkey and Belgium will take place, marking the first such gathering in this format since 2016. The Turkish delegation will include Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Justice Minister Akın Gürlek, and Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi, while the Belgian side will be represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maxime Prévot alongside ministers responsible for justice, security, interior affairs, and migration.
The discussions are expected to cover critical issues including the fight against terrorism, organized crime, and regional cooperation, as well as broader relations between the European Union and Turkey. Following this bilateral event, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is scheduled to hold a separate meeting with the High Representative of the European Union, Kaja Kallas, on Wednesday, October 21. According to official statements from the Belgian authorities, these engagements signal a renewed commitment to political dialogue and enhanced cooperation in security and law enforcement between the involved parties.
