Euroleague basketball announces new 10-year business plan
On Friday, Euroleague Basketball introduced a comprehensive 10-year business plan, which has been officially approved by all 13 shareholder clubs. The strategic roadmap aims to significantly enhance the league’s commercial value and ensure long-term financial sustainability for participating teams through a franchise-based model.
The project projects that the total value of licensed clubs will triple to approximately 5.4 billion euros, while the value of the league itself is expected to rise from 1.4 billion to 7.98 billion euros. Over the next decade, the organization plans to distribute 3.4 billion euros to clubs, comprising 2.2 billion in revenue and 1.2 billion from franchise fees. A primary goal is to reach 648 million euros in annual commercial revenue by the tenth year. These projections follow a period where the league successfully quintupled its commercial earnings over the previous decade.
This development comes after the league formally rejected a partnership proposal from the NBA during a shareholder meeting earlier this month. The new strategy focuses on expanding the competition and increasing competitive parity across all member clubs.
