Andreas Georgiou shifts focus to directing over acting
Cypriot director and producer Andreas Georgiou has announced a significant shift in his professional career for the current year. In a recent interview with Andreas Theodorou for "Loipon" magazine, Georgiou stated that he is deliberately choosing to focus on his creative and directorial responsibilities rather than taking on acting roles, aiming to simplify his workload.
Georgiou explained that this decision is a conscious effort to find a better work-life balance and spend more quality time with his family, including his wife and daughter. He expressed satisfaction with his current creative process, noting that he wishes to avoid the burden of additional duties in front of the cameras. The producer also mentioned that he had discussed a potential guest appearance for singer Giorgos Mazonakis in the project "Antonios and Kleopatra".
By stepping back from acting, the producer seeks to enjoy his professional output without feeling overwhelmed. He characterized this choice as an attempt to maintain his focus, humorously remarking that he is ready to move on from playing the romantic lead roles that have defined much of his previous onscreen work.
