Ministry of Culture announces funding schemes for occupied municipalities and digital upgrades
The Department of Contemporary Culture of the Deputy Ministry of Culture of Cyprus has announced two major support programs for 2026. The first initiative supports the publication of periodicals and newspapers by occupied municipalities, communities, and related non-profit organizations to preserve historical memory and cultural identity. Each entity is permitted to submit only one application for this specific scheme.
The second initiative, the Support Plan for Technological and Digital Upgrade of Cultural Institutions, has a total budget of €400,000. It targets private legal entities, such as non-profit organizations and foundations, that have been active in the contemporary cultural sector for at least two years and maintain dedicated spaces. This plan offers a grant covering 85% of equipment costs, with a maximum limit of €30,000 per entity, excluding VAT.
Interested parties must submit their applications electronically by November 2, 2026, at 14:00. Detailed information regarding the periodicals support scheme is available on the government's official website, while applications for the digital upgrade program must be filed through the dedicated Grants4Arts platform. These programs aim to strengthen the cultural infrastructure of the country while ensuring the preservation of heritage in occupied territories.
