Omonia prepares for league match following Europa League success

Omonia Nicosia returns to domestic action this Monday, October 19, at 19:00, facing Olympiakos at the GSP Stadium for the 6th round of the Cyprus League by Stoiximan. This follows a dominant 3-0 victory over Celje in the Europa League last Thursday, a result that propelled the team to six points in the league phase and boosted morale. Manager Henning Berg is now focused on maintaining this momentum while managing a congested schedule that includes an upcoming high-stakes match against Benfica.

Preparations for the Olympiakos match concluded with the squad announcement, which notably excludes injured players David Akintola and Aiting, while Andreas Christou returns to the lineup. Berg has emphasized the importance of player rotation and physical management given the heavy workload. With Omonia currently positioned in the top tier of the European table, the coaching staff aims to transition successfully from European commitments to consistent domestic performances, aiming for a third consecutive league victory despite the challenges posed by their opponents.
