Hadassah Medical Center opens in Limassol following inaugural European conference
The Hadassah Medical Center in Limassol was officially inaugurated on Thursday, October 15, 2026. The ceremony, attended by over 450 guests including government officials, international figures, and members of the medical community, served to connect the Cypriot healthcare sector with the century-long tradition of the Jerusalem-based Hadassah Medical Organization. Approximately 80 international visitors traveled to Cyprus for the event, which featured speeches by CEO Giorgos Zachariadis, Executive Chairman Lampros Christofis, and other Hadassah leadership figures, alongside a message from Israeli President Isaac Herzog emphasizing the friendship between the two nations.
Prior to the inauguration, Limassol hosted the first Hadassah medical conference in Europe at the St Raphael Resort. Held under the auspices of the Cyprus Oncology Society and supported by the Government of Israel, the conference centered on the theme "The Future of Medicine Is Here: Artificial Intelligence, Precision Medicine, and Patient Care Transformation." The event provided a platform for distinguished professors and physicians to share insights on key advancements in oncology, orthopedics, cardiology, and neurology, highlighting new opportunities for patient care in Cyprus through the collaboration with Israeli medical expertise.
