Donald Trump expresses full support for Benjamin Netanyahu ahead of Israeli elections

United States President Donald Trump announced his full support for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on October 18, 2026, roughly ten days before the Israeli general elections scheduled for October 27. Trump characterized Netanyahu as a great warrior-prime minister and a vital partner in the ongoing conflict against Iran, which he described as a state that has threatened both the U.S. and Israel for 51 years.

Trump cautioned that if Israel elects a different leader, the United States would be forced to handle the Iranian situation alone, an outcome he stated he does not desire. He emphasized that Iran has already been systematically damaged both militarily and economically, warning that the U.S. would finish the job if the Iranian government does not change its current course. The statements were shared by Trump via the social media platform Truth Social.
