Water supply interruptions in Limassol district
Recent water supply disruptions have been reported across the Limassol district due to technical faults in the local network. On October 19, 2026, residents and businesses in the Agios Athanasios municipal district experienced an interruption caused by a fault in the main pipeline. Numerous streets, including Pentelis, Alexandrias, and Artemidos, were affected by the service outage, with the Limassol District Local Government Organisation (EOA) deploying repair crews to address the issue.
Following the incident in Agios Athanasios, a separate failure occurred on October 20, 2026, at a pumping station serving parts of Agios Tychonas. This secondary fault resulted in a temporary water cut for 12 streets, including Sporadon, Thermopylon, and Psaron. The EOA Limassol provided updates to the public, confirming that work was underway to resolve both technical failures. The restoration of water supply in Agios Tychonas was scheduled for completion by 12:00 on October 20, while the repairs in Agios Athanasios were completed within the same timeframe as initially estimated.
