Art Cargo and Pame Kaimakli festivals feature screen booths project in Nicosia
The organization Alternative Brains Rule (ABR) is set to host its "Screen Booths" installation in Nicosia during two upcoming cultural events. First, the project will be featured at Art Cargo in the city center from October 22 to 24, 2026. Shortly after, the installation will move to Odos Synergasias in the Kaimakli neighborhood for the "Pame Kaimakli" festival, taking place from October 24 to 25, 2026.
The initiative consists of small viewing structures placed in public spaces, where visitors are invited to insert their heads to view a selection of four animated short films. The curated program includes titles such as "Love Me, Fear Me" by Veronica Solomon, "Luce and the Rock" by Britt Raes, and "One, Two, Tree" by Yulia Aronova. These films explore themes of self-perception, social interaction, and coexistence.
The project is conducted under the framework of EUnity20, emphasizing values such as inclusion, solidarity, and community engagement. By integrating these artistic installations into neighborhoods and public squares, ABR aims to encourage residents to reconsider how they share space and interact with one another through acts of mutual care and adaptation.
