Alpha Bank exhibition opens at the Leventis Municipal Museum of Nicosia

On October 15, 2026, the temporary exhibition titled "Messages in Metal: A Timeless Dialogue with Cyprus" officially opened at the Leventis Municipal Museum of Nicosia. This exhibition marks the first time a significant portion of Alpha Bank's internationally renowned Numismatic Collection has been brought to Cyprus for public display. The inauguration ceremony was led by the Governor of the Central Bank of Cyprus, Dr. Christodoulos Patsalides, with additional remarks provided by Nicosia Mayor Charalambos Prountzos, A.G. Leventis Foundation Commissioner Fotini Papadopoulou, Alpha Bank Group Chairman Dimitris Tsitsiragos, and Alpha Bank Cyprus CEO Miltos Michaelas.

The exhibition, curated by Dr. Dimitra Tsagari, is an initiative by Alpha Bank that creates a dialogue between its own numismatic collection and the existing collections held by the Leventis Municipal Museum. The display features a total of 136 coins, with 110 items sourced from the Alpha Bank collection. This collaborative project serves to integrate the bank's historical artifacts with the local numismatic history of Cyprus, providing a comprehensive view of historical currency for museum visitors.
