APOEL unveils design for new stadium in Nicosia
Cypriot football club APOEL has unveiled the first architectural renderings of its upcoming stadium, which is planned to be constructed in the area of Kokkinotrimithia, near Nicosia. The project design was developed by the firm J&A Philippou in collaboration with Chaix & Morel. This announcement comes just weeks ahead of the club's centenary anniversary on November 8.
The stadium is designed as a state-of-the-art facility featuring integrated hospitality, entertainment, and leisure amenities. According to the architectural firm, the project will be built in two phases: it will initially accommodate 16,000 spectators, with the capacity to expand to 20,000 in the future. The initiative was spearheaded by the late Konstantinos Iordanou, a dedicated supporter who established a dedicated company to oversee the development.
While the renderings provide a clear view of the pitch and design concepts, further details regarding the construction timeline and the total budget remain forthcoming. The stadium project represents a major component of the club's long-term infrastructure modernization strategy as it prepares to celebrate its 100-year history.
