Cyprus announces six postgraduate scholarships in memory of Dr. Christiana Kouta
The Office of the Commissioner for Gender Equality in Cyprus, in partnership with the State Scholarship Foundation (IKYK), has announced the opening of applications for six postgraduate scholarships for the 2026–2027 academic year. These scholarships are awarded in memory of Dr. Christiana Kouta and are intended for Cypriot women pursuing studies in the fields of shipping, innovation, and technology.
Applicants must hold a university degree with a minimum grade equivalent to "Very Good" (6.50/10), "Upper Second-Class Honours" (60/100), or 3.0/4.0. The funding, amounting to €5,000 per recipient, covers full-time or part-time in-person master's programs at institutions in Cyprus or abroad. Beyond academic excellence, the selection process will account for social criteria, such as single-parent status or large families, as well as specific health conditions including disabilities.
The application period opened on Monday, October 19, 2026, and will close on Monday, November 9, 2026, at 15:00. Interested candidates may obtain the relevant forms to proceed with their applications for this state-funded initiative.
