Cyprus Deputy Minister of Culture visits Paris for high-level meetings
Cyprus Deputy Minister of Culture, Klea Hadjistefanou Papaellina, is conducting an official visit to Paris from October 19 to 21, 2026. The visit aims to strengthen cultural cooperation through meetings with French government officials, UNESCO representatives, and leaders of major cultural institutions.
A focal point of the mission is the scheduled meeting with French Minister of Culture Catherine Pégard to sign a Declaration of Intent regarding bilateral cultural cooperation between Cyprus and France. Additionally, the Deputy Minister is set to engage with UNESCO leadership, including Director-General Khaled Ahmed El-Enany and Assistant Director-General for Culture Nayef Al-Fayez, to discuss institutional dialogue and collaborative opportunities.
The itinerary further includes high-level contacts with the heads of prominent French institutions, specifically Gilles Pécout of the National Library of France, Clément Hervieu-Léger of the Comédie-Française, and Christophe Leribault, President-Director of the Louvre Museum. These discussions are part of a broader effort to formalize and deepen Cyprus’s cultural engagements on both a bilateral and international level.
