Limassol Chamber of Commerce donates maritime books to French-Cypriot school
The Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EVEL) recently donated a collection of books focused on maritime themes to the French-Cypriot School in Limassol. The event was attended by the French Ambassador to Cyprus, Clélia Chevrier Kolačko, and the President of the Limassol Chamber, Andreas Tsouloftas. The French-Cypriot school currently serves over 100 students up to the fifth grade.
This initiative is part of the European project CMMI–MaRITeC-X, which ran from 2019 to 2026 and led to the creation of the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute (CMMI). As a partner in this project, the Chamber has worked to bridge the gap between the Institute and the local business community. The donation of books and libraries to local primary schools serves as the final action of the Chamber under this specific project framework, aimed at fostering an appreciation for the sea and encouraging maritime professional interests among the younger generation.
Ambassador Kolačko expressed her satisfaction with the collaboration, highlighting the positive relationship between the French mission and the Limassol Chamber. The project aims to improve maritime literacy in the city through educational visits and resource distribution.
