Cyprus participates in the International Mastocytosis Awareness Day
On October 20, Cyprus is officially participating in the global awareness campaign for Mastocytosis and Mast Cell Diseases. The Pancyprian Mastocytosis Association (PASYMAS) represents the country within the International Committee for Mastocytosis and Mast Cell Diseases, joining 28 other organizations worldwide to mark this international awareness day.
The International Committee, established in 2018 through the collaboration of 24 patient advocacy groups, functions as a global network dedicated to supporting patients, their families, and healthcare professionals. Its primary objectives include raising public awareness, fostering medical research, improving diagnostic accuracy, and ensuring better access to specialized treatments for these rare conditions.
This global initiative seeks to provide a stronger collective voice for those affected by mast cell disorders. By coordinating with international partners, the campaign aims to bridge gaps in medical understanding and advocate for comprehensive patient care on a global scale.
