Cypriot Parliament releases 2026 financial disclosure statements
The Parliament of Cyprus has begun the release of the 2026 'Pothen Esches' financial disclosure statements for its members. Out of the 56 total deputies in the House of Representatives, only a portion have had their updated records made public as of October 20, 2026. While the transparency process is ongoing, reports vary slightly regarding the current figures: some sources state that 33 deputies have fulfilled the requirement, while others report 34.
The disclosure process remains incomplete for several members. Specifically, 11 newly elected deputies have yet to submit their declarations, including Charalambos Petrides, Andreas Konstantinou, Dimos Georgiades, and Michalis Kounounis from DISY, along with representatives from ELAM, ALMA, and the Direct Democracy movement. Additionally, 11 to 12 re-elected deputies, including Parliament President Annita Demetriou and prominent members like Nikolas Papadopoulos and Stefanos Stefanou, currently have declarations on file that are only updated through 2024.
This mandatory reporting measure is designed to ensure financial accountability among public officials. Authorities are expected to continue processing the remaining documents to ensure full compliance with the established legal reporting framework for all members of the House.
