Nicosia hosts diverse cultural and theatrical events throughout October
Nicosia is currently hosting a wide array of cultural activities, highlighted by the ArtCargo Festival, which runs through October 25. This inaugural Nicosia event features international artists from nine countries presenting over 30 productions, including unique performances in public spaces like trees and squares, as well as the 'Parametric Deep' installation. Additionally, the PSI Foundation is showcasing a network of video art under the title 'Objects in the mirror may be closer than they appear' in old Nicosia.
Simultaneously, the city's theatrical scene remains active with several major productions. Florian Zeller’s 'The Father', featuring Stavros Louras, is being staged at the Dentro Theatre on October 20, 26, and 27. The AntiLogos Theatre is presenting 'Brandy Sour' at the Goethe-Institut, with performances by a diverse cast of Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot actors, followed by regional shows in Deryneia and Pyla. Furthermore, Eirini Andronikou's 'Vigil for Pentheus: Thoughts on the End of Civilisation' has returned to the Aigaia Theatre for a second run, exploring themes of historical decline and societal collapse.
