Pafos coastal promenade section to close for one month for repairs
The Municipality of Pafos has announced the temporary closure of a 100-meter section of the coastal promenade following ground subsidence caused by recent adverse weather conditions. The affected area extends westward from the fountain/waterfall feature situated between the Almyra and Alexander the Great hotels. Repair works are scheduled to commence on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. and are expected to last for approximately one month.
Pedestrians are advised to utilize an alternative route by walking between the Almyra and Alexander the Great hotels before continuing along Poseidonos Avenue. The municipal authorities have explicitly noted that this detour is not accessible to wheelchair users, posing a significant limitation for individuals with reduced mobility. The city has requested public cooperation and understanding as they undertake these necessary infrastructure improvements to restore the promenade's safety and integrity.
