New evidence emerges in the death investigation of Giorgos Mazonakis
Recent investigations into the death of Giorgos Mazonakis have revealed incriminating communications between a 56-year-old doctor and a 60-year-old anesthesiologist. Reports indicate that on September 2, 2026, the doctor requested midazolam, a hospital-restricted anesthetic, which was later found in the singer's bloodstream and is believed to have contributed to his collapse. A second communication on September 9 involved an associate of the doctor inquiring about an antidote for propofol. Meanwhile, the doctor's 58-year-old husband, currently in custody, has submitted a statement distancing himself from her actions.
Additional details suggest the doctor's clinic acquired plasmaferesis equipment between 2022 and 2023. While the doctor claimed to be trained in Germany, this has yet to be verified. A qualified anesthesiologist, trained in Germany, worked at the clinic until May 2023 but reportedly left due to concerns regarding the procedures. Following this departure, the doctor allegedly continued operations without proper specialized oversight. Authorities are continuing to analyze these exchanges and medical practices as part of the ongoing death investigation.
