Arts and cultural events highlight the week in Cyprus
Cyprus hosts a diverse range of cultural and artistic events this week, featuring international comedy, theatrical productions, and musical performances across the island. The comedy duo Sooshi Mango, consisting of brothers Joe and Carlo Salanitri and Andrew Manfre, continues to perform at the Strovolos Municipal Theatre in Nicosia. Meanwhile, the play 'Brandy Sour,' presented by Theater AntiLogos, explores the history of the abandoned Ledra Palace Hotel, featuring a collaborative cast of Greek-Cypriot and Turkish-Cypriot actors to reflect on the island's modern reality.
Additional highlights include the premiere of the monologue 'All of It' at the Garage venue in Deryneia, and the opening of the 'A Planet in Common' exhibition by Giannos Oikonomou at the Diatopos Art Centre on October 21. Music enthusiasts can look forward to Cypriot oud player Giannis Koutis presenting 'Words of Silence' at the Cyprus Museum with Markus Stockhausen and Marios Takousis, while Italian pianist Maurizio Mastrini performs his 'Capelli' recital at the Cyprus Wine Museum in Erimi. Additionally, the Goethe-Institut hosts a screening of the documentary 'Heaven Can Wait' accompanied by a discussion on music's role in well-being, and the ArtCargo Festival features the Spanish dance troupe Elelei at Eleftheria Square in Nicosia.
