Cypriot basketball teams face busy week of European competition

On October 21, 2026, three major Cypriot basketball clubs are participating in European tournaments. Petrolina AEK hosts the Estonian team Tartu Ülikool Maks & Moorits at the Kition Athletic Center for the third round of the FIBA Europe Cup, Group E. Both teams hold identical records of one win and one loss. Simultaneously, Keravnos Strovolou faces the Polish club King Szczecin at the Costas Papaellinas arena, aiming to extend their winning streak to three games following their undefeated start in the competition.

In the European North Basketball League (ENBL), TRIA EKA AEL BC plays against the Norwegian champions, Fyllingen Lions, at the Nikos Solomonidis Arena. This match follows AEL's successful debut in Bulgaria. The club’s participation in the ENBL is the result of a two-year planning process aimed at returning to European competition under the leadership of club president Michael Loizides and in cooperation with league secretary Edgars Zanders. The busy schedule for Cypriot teams concludes on Thursday, October 22, with the AEL women's team playing their second EuroCup Women match. Spectators can access matches through platforms like Cytavision or attend in person, with ticket information provided by the respective clubs.
