Deadline for public consultation on urban development plans in Cyprus

The Cyprus Department of Town Planning and Housing has issued a final reminder for citizens and stakeholders to submit their justified opinions and proposals regarding the new Local Development Plans for Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, and Paphos. The deadline for these submissions to the Town Planning Council is Sunday, November 15, 2026.

All submissions must be made exclusively through the digital information system "Hippodamus" at the official government portal. To assist users, the department has published a digital submission guide and provides technical support for those navigating the platform. Interested parties can receive help via telephone at 22409535, available daily from 8:30 to 15:30, or by sending inquiries via email to ippodamos@moi.gov.cy.

This process is part of the ongoing administrative effort to finalize urban regulations for the four major cities. By requiring all supporting documentation to be submitted electronically, the government aims to streamline the planning process and facilitate public participation in urban development decisions. The submission period concludes in mid-November, after which the Town Planning Council will review the gathered input to finalize the long-term local plans.
