Common football history between Omonia and Benfica

Omonia Nicosia has highlighted the historical ties between their club and the Portuguese side Benfica, identifying four specific players who have represented both institutions throughout their careers. The list includes Bruno Aguiar, Jose Moreira, and Nuno Assis, all of whom have officially competed for both teams.

Furthermore, the club noted the case of Alipio Duarte. Although he was under contract with Benfica for a two-year period, he did not record an official appearance for the Portuguese team, distinguishing his career path from the other three players mentioned. Among those who successfully played for both sides, Bruno Aguiar stands out for having celebrated championship titles with both Omonia and Benfica. This historical record serves to illustrate the long-standing connections and player exchanges that have occurred between the Cypriot and Portuguese clubs over the years.
