Public outcry in France over police conduct during recent civil unrest
Widespread controversy has emerged in France following reports of police misconduct during violent protests on October 17. In the city of Limoges, social media footage surfaced showing officers allegedly removing items from a Lacoste store on Rue du Clocher at approximately 8 p.m. French authorities have categorically denied these looting accusations.
Simultaneously, the Alliance Police Nationale union reported that six CRS special unit vehicles were deployed to protect the Jean Trogneux confectionery in Amiens, which is managed by Brigitte Macron's grand-nephew, Jean-Baptiste Trogneux. This preferential protection has sparked intense criticism, as the business was guarded while numerous other commercial establishments across the country suffered damage or looting during the same period of civil unrest.
