Larnaca EOA reports significant increase in building and planning permits issued in 2026

The District Organization of Self-Government (EOA) of Larnaca announced a substantial rise in the issuance of planning and building permits throughout 2026. According to the official statement released on October 21, 2026, the organization successfully issued 2,162 planning permits and 3,473 building permits, marking a significant improvement in productivity for the Development Licensing Department.

Comparative data illustrates this upward trend: planning permits rose from 1,759 in 2025 and 597 in the second half of 2024 to 2,162 in 2026. Building permits followed a similar trajectory, increasing from 2,586 in 2025 and 942 in the second half of 2024 to 3,473 in 2026. These achievements were realized despite the department assuming additional responsibilities for managing dangerous buildings starting April 1, 2025.

The EOA Larnaca emphasized that clearing long-standing backlogs remains a top priority to support citizens, professionals, and overall regional development. The organization continues to focus its resources on systematic administrative efforts to expedite application processing and reduce pending cases from previous years.
