CFA Judicial Committee imposes penalties for disciplinary violations
On October 21, 2026, the Judicial Committee of the Cyprus Football Association (CFA) announced a series of disciplinary decisions following reports submitted by match officials regarding incidents that took place during early October matches.
The committee reviewed several cases from the 2026-2027 season. Christos Chatzipantelidis, assistant coach of Olympiakos Nicosia, was fined for inappropriate behavior and protests during the October 11 match against Aris Limassol. Similarly, Makis Mamas, a goalkeeper coach for AEK Larnaca, received a fine for aggressively confronting the referee following the conclusion of an Under-19 league match against APOEL Nicosia on October 10. Additionally, Nikolaos Lambrou, a player for F.C. Livadia 2022, was suspended for two matches following a violent act against an opponent during a third-division game against Ethnikos Latsion on October 10.
These penalties represent the committee's formal response to various breaches of discipline reported by referees Kyriakos Athanasiou, Ali Erhan, and Marios Koufopavlou. The committee continues to review pending referrals to maintain compliance with football regulations across all professional and developmental league levels in Cyprus.
